Little Vikings & YDP

The Little Vikings clinic is the earliest introduction to organized soccer on the Gjøa Pathway. With each weekly practice, the Little Vikings develop a love for the game through fun and engaging activities, while establishing fundamental skills that young players need to begin their soccer journey.

Whether on a path to travel soccer or refining their game for success in recreational leagues, the Youth Development Program (YDP) offers girls and boys born 2009-2014 professional instruction to improve their soccer skills. Gjøa licensed and experienced coaches teach a weekly clinic focused on ball mastery, technical skills, and game understanding in a fun and supportive environment.

Little Vikings and YDP have Fall and Spring seasons outdoors and an indoor season in Winter. See the current season below.

FAQ – INDOOR CLINICS

Is there parking at Socceroof?
There is very limited parking in the onsite parking garage and very limited street parking.

Can parents enter the facility?
Because of occupancy limitations, we highly encourage all parents to drop-off and return five minutes before the end of the session to pick-up. For those that need to stay, there is very limited first-come assigned seating for $5 per person paid to Socceroof. They have closed a field for seating and the nominal fee partially helps offset their lost revenue. There’s no admittance to the rest of the fields areas, so parents/guardians may not watch the clinic. (Accommodations can be made for Little Vikings families to be on or near the field, if needed.)

What are the Safety Protocols for Indoor Soccer?
Socceroof has a comprehensive approach to safety. Read an independent pathologist’s report here and watch a video about their safety protocols here. They include:

  • over 100 open windows and many industrial fans providing complete numerous air exchanges every hour, even in winter
  • deep cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day, and overnight air filtration and sanitizing fog
  • required hand sanitizing and temperature checks upon arrival for everyone, including adults. Anyone with a temperature of 100+ and/or any signs of illness is sent home
  • capacity limitations, spacing, traffic flow measures, and contact tracing procedures
  • strict mask policy everyone, including players while playing
  • players are encouraged to distance whenever possible
  • Gjøa coaches and Socceroof staff are tested every two weeks
  • two-way transparency with our families regarding possible Coronavirus contact, communicating clearly and thoroughly

Will there be Outdoor Clinics?
We go back outdoors starting in mid-March.

What’s the clinic cancellation policy?
We build one possible session cancellation into the pricing of clinics. If a session is canceled due to weather we will reschedule it if we can, but if we cannot reschedule we don’t refund one missed session. If two sessions are missed we will prorate a refund for one of them. If the facility is unexpectedly closed we will provide a credit for spring.
